Mrs. Wishy-Washy & Thank you letters

This week we read the story Mrs. Wishy-Washy by Joy Cowley.  This week the students worked on retelling the story.  Everyone took turns acting it out!  Below is the link for one of the videos!

Mrs. Wishy-Washy video

We also wrote our thank you letters for our donor's choose project.  Here are pictures of our letters.  They will be sent to some of the donors who helped to make this project possible!

Opinion Writing

This week we have been working on different ways to tell our opinions.  Students made petitions and then they signed each other's petition!  Students also wrote lists as to why they should get what they want.  Students also made up songs for change!

Plants

We have begun our plant unit.  A few weeks ago, we planted tomatoes, flowers, and green bean seeds.  They are starting to grow!

With the help of our ipad and smartboard, students got to all see the plants growing!

We also created paper flowers to include what plants need to survive: soil, water, sun, and air.

Help fund our class project!

UPDATE: Our project has been FULLY FUNDED!  YAY!
Thank you to:
Donna M, Ashley H., Kelly T., Heidi W., and an Anonymous Donor!  This is made possible with your help, so Thank you!

Hello!

As you may know, we have access to the Osmo learning system!  This is a great tool in our classroom to help the students learn reading, spelling, and math skills.  The students are in love with using the hands-on tools to interact with our ipad.

I am looking to get another Osmo learning system for our classroom, so that more students may use it at a time.  Additionally, I would like to get the coding system to start teaching the students how to code!  This is a great product, but I need your help.

Through a reputable website- Donors Choose-we are able to get funding for this project.  I need your help to raise the needed funds.  Please share our class link with your friends and family to make a donation to our project.

You can find the link here: https://www.donorschoose.org/project/hands-on-learning-in-kindergarten/3137513  Your donations will be matched in the first 7 days of this fundraising!  Please use the code: LIFTOFF for up to a $50 match!  Every little bit will help us meet our goal!

I appreciate your help in meeting this need!  To learn more about the Osmo system, I encourage you to watch this video: https://youtu.be/zEsJwwdq4r8

Your child has access to use this amazing tool almost every day!  I sincerely hope that you are able to contribute to our learning.

Thank you!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Baltos

Leprechaun!

On Thursday, we had Lucky the Leprechaun visit our classroom!  He left us several notes and footprints!  We decided to make traps to catch him!  We did not catch the leprechaun, but he did leave us some GOLD!
